Biography

Henry Bryant (1820–1867) was a man of the nineteenth century whose life encompassed the antebellum period, the Civil War, and the early years of Reconstruction. He came of age during a time of rapid industrial and social change in New England, and lived through the nation's greatest constitutional crisis.

His forty-seven years of life were lived during a transformative period in American history. He was remembered by his family and community, and was interred at Mount Auburn Cemetery, where his memory is preserved among the notable figures of his era.
