Biography
Henry Clay Frick, born in 1849, rose to prominence as an industrialist whose work in steel and coke refined the nation’s manufacturing capabilities while his collecting instincts brought extraordinary European art to American audiences.
Despite the controversies of his time, he later turned to philanthropy, funding hospitals, libraries, and the Frick Collection, and now rests at Homewood Cemetery as a reminder of both entrepreneurship and patronage.
