Henry E. Burnham

Biography

Henry E. Burnham, born in 1844, pursued a legal and political career grounded in a deep belief in constitutional government and fiscal responsibility. He served New Hampshire in the state legislature before being elected to the United States Senate, where he approached each issue with measured judgment.

During his twelve years in Washington, he championed policies that balanced progress with prudence and encouraged young public servants to remain humble and attentive to the people they served; he now rests at Pine Grove Cemetery, remembered for his steady statesmanship.
