Biography
Henry Hobson Richardson, laid to rest at Walnut Hills Cemetery, was the architect whose hearty Romanesque Revival vocabulary gave American civic and cultural buildings a new gravitas, from Boston's Trinity Church to the Allegheny County Courthouse.
Drawing upon his École des Beaux-Arts training while embracing the textures of native stone, he forged a distinctly American idiom that continues to influence architects and inspire stewards of the built environment.
