Biography

Henry L. Cake (1827–1899) answered the call of the Union as a soldier, guiding men with steady resolve through the hardest months of the Civil War while never forgetting the weight of responsibility he carried.

When the guns finally fell silent, he brought that same sense of duty to public office, representing his neighbors at the state and national levels and advocating for those who had served before he was laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery.
