Biography

Henry Larcom Abbot was a respected engineer and soldier whose West Point training led him to serve his country with distinction throughout a long career in the Army Corps of Engineers. His work on river and harbor improvements helped shape the nation’s infrastructure in lasting ways.

After his retirement he remained a thoughtful advisor and mentor, so that when he was laid to rest at Mount Auburn, colleagues remembered him as a generous thinker as well as a disciplined professional.
