Henry Lehman

Biography

Henry Lehman (1822–1855) was a young man whose life was cut short at the age of thirty-three. His burial at Woodlawn Cemetery reflects his family's place within the New York metropolitan community during the mid-nineteenth century.

Though his years were limited, Lehman lived during a period of significant American growth and change. His memory endures as part of the historical record of his generation, preserved in the cemetery that served as a final resting place for many prominent families of his time.
