Biography

Henry Rutgers Beekman, born in 1845, matured alongside the growth of the modern metropolis and took pride in supporting the civic life of his city.

He carried himself with a generous sense of responsibility, and his passing in 1900 was followed by a final resting place at Green-Wood Cemetery where his remembrance endures.
