Biography

Henry Vane, 2nd Duke of Cleveland, was a distinguished member of the English nobility who served his country and constituents throughout the early 19th century. Born in 1788, he held the prestigious title of Duke and was involved in matters of state and governance.

The Duke was known for his aristocratic bearing and his participation in the political life of his time. He passed away in 1864 and was laid to rest in the Church of St Mary in Staindrop, sharing his final resting place with other members of his noble family and the community he served.
