Biography

Heonjong of Joseon (1827–1849) was a calligrapher of the Joseon dynasty who demonstrated artistic talent during his lifetime. Though his life was brief, he left an impression through his work in the traditional art of calligraphy, a highly valued discipline in Korean culture.

His contributions to the artistic traditions of Joseon reflect the refined aesthetic sensibilities of the royal court and educated elite of his time. Heonjong's memory is preserved at Gyeongneung, honoring his place in Korean cultural history.
