Biography
Hubert Dilger (1836-1911) earned distinction as a Union artillery officer during the Civil War, receiving the Medal of Honor for his bravery in battle and his skillful direction of gun crews under fire.
Following the war he remained devoted to honoring the memory of his comrades and to sharing lessons of courage and discipline with younger generations who would carry forward the nation they had fought to protect.
