Biography

Ignacy Komorowski (1824–1857) was a Polish composer whose brief life was devoted to musical composition during the mid-19th century. Working during a period of significant cultural development in Warsaw, Komorowski contributed to the musical heritage of his nation during the years following the failed November Uprising.

Komorowski's career was cut short by his death at age 33, yet his compositional work remained part of Poland's musical tradition. He was interred at Powązki Cemetery, the final resting place of many of Warsaw's cultural figures.
