Biography

J. A. Folger was a businessman whose ventures in shipping, coffee, and trade helped keep pace with the needs of a growing population across the Pacific coast. His company provided goods and employment while adapting to the challenges of transportation and retail in a young market economy.

Folger’s energy and strategic thinking left a legacy of hospitality and enterprise that endured beyond his lifetime, and he now rests at Mountain View Cemetery.
