Joseph Horne

Biography

Joseph Horne (1826–1891) was a prominent Pittsburgh businessman and entrepreneur who founded Horne's, a department store that became a cornerstone of Pittsburgh's retail landscape. His vision and business acumen transformed the commercial life of the city.

Horne's store grew to become one of the region's most successful retail establishments, serving generations of Pittsburgh families. Joseph Horne's legacy as a merchant and civic contributor endured long after his death, and he was laid to rest in Allegheny Cemetery.
