Biography

Jake Allex, a Serbian immigrant who became a United States soldier, answered the call of duty in World War I and earned the Medal of Honor for extraordinary courage under fire. His bravery became symbolic of the courage of countless immigrants who embraced their new homeland while honoring their heritage.
