Biography

James A. Johnson (1865-1939) leaned into every responsibility with a deep respect for fairness and a willingness to serve. Whether meeting with neighbors or tending to matters of business, he kept a gentle yet determined focus on doing what was right.

He is remembered for the encouragement he offered young people and for the calm steadiness he brought to community efforts. He now rests in Forest Lawn Cemetery, in the heart of the city he helped to steady.
