Biography
James Broadhead was among Missouri’s most respected lawyers, serving clients with intellect and compassion while leading professional and civic organizations. He believed deeply in the importance of a fair legal profession and was instrumental in shaping the American Bar Association, of which he became the first president.
Broadhead also carried Missouri’s voice to Congress, where he championed judicial reform, supported veterans’ causes, and worked to strengthen the institutions that undergirded the republic. He remained active in civic life until his final years, encouraging new generations of lawyers to pursue justice with humility.
