Biography

James Cotton first made his mark in the Mississippi Delta before joining Muddy Waters's band, where his fierce harmonica lines and booming voice became central to the evolution of modern blues. His passion for the music pulsed through every performance, earning him fans across the globe.

He led the James Cotton Blues Band for decades, earning widespread acclaim and helping keep the music alive for younger players; his influence is celebrated at Texas State Cemetery.
