Biography

James H. Platt, Jr. trained as a physician and turned to public service during the Reconstruction era, winning election to the U.S. House of Representatives from Virginia to help steer the restored Commonwealth through its precarious early years.

After his term he became part of Denver's medical community, providing care to residents and advocating for public health measures as the city matured into a regional center.
