James Hood Wright

Biography

James Hood Wright (1836-1894) brought disciplined leadership to the world of finance and transportation, guiding institutions with an eye toward stability and thoughtful investment that fueled new opportunity for the city.

He was also a generous supporter of cultural and educational endeavors, and his remains were laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery as a token of the esteem in which he was held by colleagues and citizens alike.
