James Jerpe (1885-1917) carried himself with energy and a desire to participate in local affairs, uplifting classmates and colleagues with his good humor.

Though his time was short, he is remembered for lending a steady hand to neighbors in need and for the sincerity with which he embraced every opportunity to serve.
