James Munroe

Biography

James Munroe was a resident whose life extended through the mid-nineteenth century, a period of significant transformation in American society. Born in 1815, he lived through decades of change that reshaped the nation's political, social, and economic landscape.

Munroe's life concluded in 1869, allowing him to witness the aftermath of the Civil War and the beginning of the Reconstruction era. He was interred at Oakwood Cemetery, where his memory is preserved among the community members with whom he shared his life and times.
