James Van Voast

James Van Voast, born the same year as Susanna in 1827, experienced decades of momentous change and remained a quiet steward of family heritage, encouraging younger relatives to remain proud of their roots while adjusting to new opportunities.

He valued the ties formed in his community and kept them alive through patient conversation, and when he died in 1915 he was interred at Evergreen Cemetery, leaving behind the memory of an unfailing commitment to home.
