Biography

Jan Křtitel Kuchař was born in 1751 in Prague and trained within the city’s grand tradition of organ playing and composition, quickly earning a reputation as one of its most trusted church musicians.

He spent decades serving the parishes of Malá Strana, producing music that bridged the Baroque and Classical eras while nurturing younger colleagues, and after a lifetime devoted to sacred repertoire he was laid to rest at Malostranský hřbitov.
