Biography

Jan Ladislav Dussek (1760–1812) was a renowned Bohemian composer and pianist who became one of the most celebrated musical figures of his era. Born in Čáslavl, Dussek achieved international recognition for his innovative compositions and virtuosic performances, earning him a place among the most important composers of the Classical period. His works encompassed piano sonatas, concertos, and chamber music that demonstrated remarkable technical sophistication and emotional depth.

Dussek's career took him across Europe, where he performed for nobility and established himself as a leading figure in musical circles from London to Paris.
