Biography
Jānis Rudzutaks was a Latvian-born Soviet politician who played an active role in Soviet governance and administration. He served in various governmental positions and was involved in the political life of the Soviet Union during its early decades.
Rudzutaks fell victim to the Great Purge and was executed at the Kommunarka shooting ground in 1938. His death was part of the systematic elimination of Old Bolsheviks and political figures during Stalin's reign of terror.
