Jean de Koven was a bright young American whose studies in the arts took her to Europe, where she embraced new languages and friendships with generosity.
Her untimely death in 1937 amplified the longing she inspired in friends and classmates, and Chicago’s Mount Carmel Cemetery now holds her memory as a reminder of youthful curiosity and compassion.
