Biography
Jefferson Davis Brodhead was born in 1859 in Easton and trained for a life in law and public service. Friends and neighbors recall him as a thoughtful practitioner who listened to farmers, merchants, and families alike, striving for fairness in courtrooms as well as during his years in elected office.
Even after he left the legislature, he remained in Easton, mentoring young attorneys and lending his counsel to civic projects that preserved the city’s heritage while looking toward the future. He now lies in Easton Cemetery, remembered for his belief in the power of service and in the promise of democracy.
