Biography
Samuel Sitgreaves built a reputation as a skilled attorney before representing Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he supported the Jay Treaty and advocated for fiscal responsibility. He was later appointed commissioner to settle claims with Great Britain, demonstrating diplomacy as he worked to balance American interests abroad.
He spent his later years in Easton, where he continued to practice law, served as a judge, and remained a steady presence in the Easton Cemetery community until his death in 1827.
