Biography

Theophilus Francis Rodenbough entered military service during the Civil War, rising through the ranks to lead troops with courage in key engagements and earning recognition for his dedication to the Union cause. He continued to serve as a career officer, later commanding artillery units and sharing lessons of strategy and honor with younger officers.

An accomplished author, Rodenbough recorded the heroism of Medal of Honor recipients and other soldiers, ensuring that their deeds remained visible to future generations and that the sacrifices of the past informed the citizens of the present.
