Born in 1936, Jimmy D. Ross rose through the ranks of the U.S. Army to become a trusted logistics commander, overseeing sustainment operations that kept combat and support units supplied through the Cold War and beyond.

He guided younger leaders with patience, ensured readiness across multiple theaters, and after retirement his family and fellow soldiers honored him with burial at Arlington National Cemetery.
