John E. Kenna, born in 1848, spent his years weaving together the stories of older and younger neighbors to ensure shared values were honored amid shifting times and he took pride in helping the next generation build on principles of kindness and civic responsibility.

Gentle yet resolute, he offered counsel that comforted many and inspired others to aim higher, and he now lies in Mount Olivet Cemetery where the community remembers his steady leadership.
