Biography

John Eager Howard (1752–1827) was a Revolutionary War hero whose valor at battles such as Cowpens earned him the deep respect of fellow patriots and later led him to serve Maryland as governor.

He continued to care for veterans and the Commonwealth after the war, leaving a legacy of disciplined service now honored at Old Saint Paul's Cemetery.
