Biography

John F. Nugent built his reputation as a diligent lawyer before being chosen to represent Idaho in the U.S. Senate from 1918 to 1921, where his steady judgment guided legislation attentive to the needs of farmers, miners, and returning servicemen.

After leaving the Senate he continued to lend his experience to state affairs, mentoring young lawyers and encouraging civic improvement, and he is laid to rest at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
