Biography

John J. Babka rose from immigrant roots to become a respected attorney and a representative for Ohio’s 21st Congressional District, where he worked to improve labor conditions and immigrant integration. He spent his brief Washington tenure promoting progressive causes with a practical, hardworking approach.

After leaving Congress he returned to his legal practice while remaining engaged in civic affairs, demonstrating the same integrity that had guided him through public office.
