Born in 1856, John J. Lentz devoted himself to the civic life of Ohio, earning respect as a thoughtful politician who sought pragmatic solutions to the challenges facing his neighbors and state.

Throughout his life he remained engaged with citizens across Columbus, finding solace in quieter moments after public service and leaving a legacy of steady leadership when he was laid to rest at Green Lawn Cemetery in 1931.
