John Langdon

Biography

John Langdon (1741–1819) was a New Hampshire merchant-statesman whose leadership as governor and U.S. senator helped steady the state and the union during the Constitutional era.

He lent his pragmatic vision to craft shipping, finance, and national policy, and his memory endures at Old North Cemetery where he rests after a life of faithful civic labor.
