Biography
John Lomax (1867–1948) dedicated his life to gathering and celebrating the music of working Americans, traveling far to record songs that might otherwise have been lost.
His pioneering efforts with the Library of Congress and his support of folk singers live on, and he is now laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery where many may honor the generosity of his scholarship.
