Biography

John R. Cravens witnessed a century of transformation, from early frontier days to the closing years of the nineteenth century, and he met each turning with thoughtful resolve. Throughout his long life he embraced the responsibilities of father, citizen, and friend.

Cravens' final chapter ended in 1899, and Fairmount Cemetery shelters his grave as a reminder of the quiet leadership he offered the community.
