John Rodgers

Biography

John Rodgers (1812–1882) served in the United States Navy with distinction, earning respect for his leadership aboard ships and for the friendships he cultivated with the sailors under his command. His career spanned decades of maritime service, during which he sought to balance duty with care for the men he led.

After a life at sea and a commitment to his country, he was laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery, where the calm of the grounds offers a fitting tribute to a devoted naval officer.
