John Steele

Biography

John Steele was born in 1764 and became known to friends and neighbors as a man of principle and steady character during a time of national formation. Those who knew him recalled his deliberate nature, thoughtful counsel, and commitment to the welfare of his community.

After his passing in 1815, he was laid to rest at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, a fitting place to reflect upon his life of steady service.
