Biography
John W. Crisfield, born in 1806, devoted his life to representing Maryland's Eastern Shore in the halls of Congress, helping to promote better transportation for farmers and ensuring the voices of his shoreline neighbors were heard in the nation's debates.
After a long career in public life, he returned to the soil of the Manokin area, where his family and constituents could still seek his counsel, and his resting place at Manokin Presbyterian Church Cemetery continues to draw those who honor his leadership.
