John Yates Beall

Biography

John Yates Beall, a soldier born in 1835, devoted himself to the causes he embraced, meeting his end in 1865 with the courage of a man shaped by the trials of war. His days were marked by deep convictions and a willingness to carry difficult burdens for the sake of others.

Buried in Zion Episcopal Churchyard, his grave invites reflection on the sacrifices of those who stood firm in conflict and on the complicated history they helped to shape.
