Biography

Josef Antonín Jíra (1868–1930) was an archaeologist whose scholarly pursuits contributed to the understanding of Central European history and heritage. His work in archaeology reflected the intellectual currents of the early 20th century and the growing interest in preserving the region's cultural past.

Jíra's dedication to archaeological research enriched the historical knowledge of his time. He was laid to rest in the Cemetery in Šárka, where he is remembered as a scholar who advanced the study of the region's ancient and medieval past.
