Biography
Josef Durek (1887–1954) was a Catholic priest who dedicated his life to pastoral ministry and spiritual leadership in the Czech lands. Serving during the transition from the Austro-Hungarian Empire through the establishment and development of Czechoslovakia, he ministered to his congregation through periods of profound historical change.
Father Durek's commitment to his priestly vocation remained constant throughout his life. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Litomyšl, where he is remembered for his years of devoted service to his faith community.
