Biography

Josef Pitter (1881–1925) devoted himself to painting scenes of daily life, believing sincere observation could capture the dignity of ordinary moments in Prague. His canvases reflected both the light of the city and the thoughtful care he took in portraying those around him.

His memory lives on through the works he left behind, and he now rests at Vinohrady Cemetery, where admirers continue to find solace in his artistic legacy.
