Biography
Joseph Hume trained as a physician but turned his analytical mind to public affairs, serving for decades in Parliament as a Radical advocate for honest government and sound public finance.
He pressed for parliamentary reform, expanded education, and reached beyond factions to champion workers’ welfare, leaving a calm grave at Kensal Green Cemetery.
