Joseph Monroe Hinds

Biography

Joseph Monroe Hinds (1842-1901) lived through the sweeping changes of the nineteenth century, carrying himself with steady conviction among family and neighbors. Much of his personal story remains quiet history, but those who knew him recall a man devoted to the rhythms of daily life and to the care of his community.

He now rests at Maple Hill Cemetery, where visitors can pause to honor a life lived in faithful service to the familiar places around him.
