Joshua Fry Speed

Joshua Fry Speed (1814-1882) made his home in Louisville as a businessman whose general store became a gathering place for neighbors and national figures alike, including his close friend Abraham Lincoln.

His hospitality and earnest counsel sustained others through economic uncertainty, and his memory endures in Cave Hill as a model of friendship and enterprise.
