Biography
Joshua Jones Walton arrived during the pioneering days when Eugene was still taking shape, carrying supplies on rugged trails and opening land for families to settle. His efforts—both in carving roads and in lending a hand wherever it was needed—helped lay the foundations of a town striving toward permanence.
The Pioneer Cemetery now cares for his memory, a marker that honors a life lived in service to the growth of his adopted home and to the future residents who would follow in his footsteps.
